U.S. Dept of Energy Selects TVA to Advance Next-Gen Nuclear Energy
The Tennessee Valley Authority’s application has been selected for a $400 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to accelerate the deployment of the nation’s first Generation III+ Small Modular Reactor at TVA’s Clinch River nuclear site in East Tennessee. TVA Announced It Has Applied For Grant Funding for Small Modular Reactors
TVA has announced recently it has applied for $800 million in competitive grant funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. This funding was appropriated by Congress last year to help deploy the first Gen III+ Small Modular Reactors in the United States. See announcement release here.
